How many LPG sessions do you actually need to see results?

LPG Endermologie is a high-tech beauty treatment, but how long exactly does it take to work? Here’s everything you need to know…

LPG, is also known as LipoMassage and was created and patented by French parent company Endermologie, which boasts over 30 years of experience in the beauty-tech market. LPG ‘naturally’ contours your body and can also be used on the face.

This treatment is said to target many common body issues that women in particular deal with. It can reduce or get rid of cellulite, slim down certain areas of your body that you can shape up with exercise and diet, make your skin look youthful and more radiant, and tighten sagging skin. For use on your face, it is reported to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, gives you a more youthful glowing look as well as having contouring effects, giving you higher cheekbones and a more defined bone structure (say goodbye to hours of watching YouTube tutorials on how to contour with bronzer.)

How does it actually work?

LPG reactivates ‘lipolysis’, this term describes the natural reaction of what happens in your body when fat is released to provide energy for the body. LPG triggers lipolysis by massaging the body with mechanical rollers, patented by Endermologie.

Once the fat is released, it becomes a source of energy for your muscles which is what makes you look more toned, and reduces cellulite and dimpled skin. The technique also reactivates the production of elastin and collagen, to give you that youthful and firm looking skin.

How long does it take to see results?

Each session lasts around 30 – 45 mins, and from our experience results really begin to show after 3 sessions. Most salons recommend 6 or more sessions to see lasting results, but the lasting effects and the speed of these results varies per person (similar to laser hair removal).

Some users notice changes straight away, and results will keep improving after each session. For quicker results, sessions can be scheduled several times a week at the beginning of the program, and this is also recommended by Endermologie. The first month is important to trigger the ‘fibroblast’ process at the skin level. After that, one session per month is enough.

Do the results last?

No... But that being said, exercising for two weeks in January won’t keep you fit for the rest of the year. The same is true for your LPG sessions, (or any beauty treatment for that matter) you will need to maintain a routine to see results.

“During the recommended ‘attack phase’ (2 sessions per week for 1 month), the goal is to send enough messages to the bodies cells to create a sustainable cellular awakening,” LPG Endermologie explained in a statement on their website, “In a few weeks, depending on your objectives, the technique will release resistant fat, smooth away cellulite, reshape curves or firm your skin. After this intensive period, it is important to regularly continue to stimulate these cells so they don’t fall back to their old, lethargic habits.”

The good news is that after this phase one session per month is sufficient to reactivate this cellular memory.

Is it painful?

Compared to other beauty treatments out there, the treatment is actually pleasant. The settings are customised depending on skin sensitivity. After the first few minutes, you may feel an acceleration of blood circulation and warmth, but no pain.

Who is it for?

This treatment has the most visible results on skin with cellulite, or ‘orange-peel’ skin. By being non-invasive, natural and not using any chemicals, this treatment does not have any recovery time or any negative side effects so it is technically safe for everyone - although women who are pregnant are recommended to only have legs, facial and hand treatments.
