The Facegym medi-lift mask gave me more definition than filler

(I am not kidding)

Our Contributing editor tried FaceGym’s high-tech medi-lift facial, these were the results:

I went for a cryo medi-lift facial workout at Facegym, and I was left red in the face (literally) but with the jawline I thought I had lost through lockdown weight gain.

Upon entering Facegym, I found myself plunged into a world of serious skincare and beauty gadgets aiming to firm up skin and give the appearance of a more sculpted facial structure.

I filled out a skin questionnaire and then headed over to the science lab looking workout area.

The therapist carrying out my treatment started with the Facegym ball to relieve tension, improve muscle tone and circulation. The ball is used as the workout warm up, to boost lymphatic drainage and to prep the skin for the workout ahead.

The skin is then given a targeted facial massage which helps tone and sculpt the eye area, cheekbones and jawline. This was incredibly relaxing, and at times a little uncomfortable when pressure was applied to the jawline area, however I could feel the tension and pressure melting away and the results were worth the slight discomfort.

The medi lift mask was then attached to my face. It used EMS technology that sculpts the lower face and adds volume to the cheeks. This hands-free mask features three different settings, with six modes of intensity so that you can address various concerns.

Jaw definer - Targets the often overused masseter muscle in the jaw, using low-frequency EMS to tone the face and achieve a more defined jawline.

Cheek sculptor - Both the zygomatic major and minor muscles in the cheeks are targeted with intensive EMS to tone, tighten and define the cheek muscles

This device is bizarre, upon being strapped in, the frequency starts and it forces your eyes to shut, your eyebrows to twitch and your neck to vibrate. The stimulation technology strengthens the muscles in the cheeks and the lower face, giving instant results of a more defined cheekbone structure. It works by activating, tightening and dining the zygomaticus and masseter muscle to improve firmness.

Whilst the mask does it work, the trainer then massages my shoulders and neck, known as the ‘stress triangle’ the forehead, neck and shoulders are where most carry all their tension. This massage relieves inflammation and eases muscle tension through the use of hands and the multi-sculpt gua Sha.

A hylauronic acid micro needling roller was then used with 3000 non-invasive micro-needles, fulled with pro-grade hyaluronic acid, centella asiatica and peptides which open the skins micro channels to deliver targeted hydration leaving my skin utterly plump and glowing. My overall skin appearance was bright, healthy and hydrated.

Lastly, a powerful shot of cryo oxygen is applied to deeply hydrate and plump the skin, locking in moisture, promoting cellular rejuvenation and soothing the skin’s texture. The glow my skin had after this was remarkable.

We live in the digital age of stress, and this can really effect our muscles and skin. The cryo medi-lift workout is a perfect hour long fitness break for those who are dehydrated, stressed and in need of some self care. It works to improve muscle tone, boost hydration and reducing muscle tension.

I left feeling rejuvenated and relaxed, with incredible jaw definition and one hell of a glow.
