Dyson has launched these crazy air-purifying headphones

Are they as crazy as they look? Yes. Do we love them anyways? Also Yes.

The only headphones that tackle both air and noise pollution simultaneously have hit the internet. ‘The Zone’ are Dyson’s latest venture and first pair of headphones. The noise-canceling Bluetooth headphones have built in air purification technology, thanks to a magnetic face visor which covers the mouth.

Could this be the product we had no idea we needed until now? The announcement of the product was just a teaser, and the company are set to release them this autumn. Dyson have not yet revealed the price, or other specifications that would normally be mentioned, including how long the battery will last and how much they will weigh….

They did explain the purpose of the headphones is to help tackle air pollution - particular in cities and urban areas, in a public statement on their blog: “the Dyson Zone is a set of noise cancelling, high fidelity over-ear headphones which simultaneously deliver immersive sound to the ears, and purified airflow to the nose and mouth.” adding, “The result of over a decade of air quality research and development, the Dyson Zone air-purifying headphones simultaneously tackle the urban issues of air quality and noise pollution.”

How do Dyson’s The Zone headphones work?

The device is a miniaturised version of their already existing air filtration technology that you see across their other products. ‘The Zone’ sucks in air through each earpiece using a pair of micro compressors. The air is then filtered and piped through the mouth piece for the wearer to breathe in — without the particles and pollutants.
