These yoga pants come with a built-in instructor in the seams

Wearable X could be the answer to your lockdown prayers

Working out at home can be difficult at the best of times, but without an instructor yoga it can feel almost impossible. The idea that you could get expert direction from your yoga pants seems like a far-flung invention from the future – and utterly ridiculous. But these smart leggings from Wearable X could be the answer to your lockdown yoga prayers.

The leggings are designed to coach you towards better yoga form, with sensors within the fabric in the ankles, hips and knees. When you’re practicing yoga, the sensors vibrate in the areas you need to improve your pose, in encouraging you to get better as you go.

This all happens through a pulse device which is attached to the back of the leggings, the pulse itself is lightweight and ergonomic so doesn’t get in the way of you whilst you’re working out.

‘I was never really good at yoga and felt intimidated whenever I would explore a new pose,’ says Billie Whitehouse, co-founder and CEO of Wearable X. ‘Throughout creating this product, we worked with over 50 yogis across three different continents to understand the importance of alignment in time and space. We are proud to redefine what it means to be a modern lifestyle brand by combining fashion and technology.’

The pulse connects to your iPhone via bluetooth, and is managed via the Nadi X app on your phone. On the app you can find specific feedback post your workout, with detailed instructions on how to improve your posture just like an instructor would give you.

Using vibrational feedback, the pants guide the wearer with the touch of a yoga instructor. The pants have the ability to identify the pose the wearer is in and then provide real time feedback through gentle pulses that draw awareness to the the focal points of each pose. The leggings come in a range of colours, and can be worn as regular sports leggings when you remove the pulse.
