Apple AirPods 3: Everything we know so far

Longer battery life? Yes please.

According to several sources, a third generation of the famous Apple AirPods is set to be launched sometime in late 2021. The new iteration of AirPods will is also said to have several unique design features. Tech enthusiasts and those in the know say this is what you are likely to see:

The design of the new generation of Apple’s best selling earphones is apparently going to closely resemble the AirPods Pro, but with some exceptions. It will feature a shorter stem and according to leaked information which quickly made the rounds on Twitter, they actually appear to be something a hybrid between AirPods and AirPods Pro. In order to accommodate the new design, the case storing them will be wider.

It is also rumoured that the current H1 wireless chip would also be incorporated into this edition of the AirPods, enabling a wider range. Battery life is another element that is expected to be improved in the new generation. (Thank goodness.)

As Apple is becoming a more environmentally friendly brand, some sources expect the new AirPods to be produced from recyclable components. Moreover, two characteristics that are said to be decided upon are Headphones Accommodation, enabling the amplification of faint sounds and adjusting frequencies and the Hearing Health feature. The latter will be able to transmit messages and notifications when listening to audio on a high volume.

Among other expected features, AirPods 3 might have the pressure-relieving set-up as in AirPods Pro. Its purpose is to adjust the pressure within the ear when using the AirPods for an extended period. The touch controls will be kept the same as AirPods Pro’s, but they seem to lack the silicone ear tips found in the previous model.

Now we only have to wait until the launch to see if all of these expectations will become reality.
